How do you get someone to understand you are worth the effort?

For years now I have been trying to get my husband to get his drivers license but he hasn't bothered.
Now I am in the middle/hopefully end of a really bad flare and can't drive. I am the one to do all the
housework and laundry and grocery shopping. Even today I had to remind him about a person cash gift
and he seemed to think I would be going somewhere AFTER I had him take the bus and told him how much
trying to drive stresses me out. I am at a loss. This is not the first time this has been brought up.
Multiple times a year in the last 13 years. I never hear "hey can I help you w/ anything?"
I am tired of trying to make him understand. Tired of constantly reminding him of things I shouldn't
have to remind him about. Tired of feeling like I really don't matter to him.To anyone really.

comments

Ever notice how people bitch about something and fail to realize that they do the exact thing they are bitching about? Yeah. That's been life lately and I am feeling rather done with it. Tired of taking blame for shit that is not my fault nor in my control. Let's not mention the lack of respect from the mom in law. For some reason people seem to think we need to give her all the respect in the world but for what? She doesn't give any to us. We help her out more than her other 3 kids and still she can't remember that we live and sleep downstairs, Marc works nights and sleeps during the day or that she walks like a fucking elephant. She manipulates people to get her way all the time and I fucking loathe that. Considering she is someone who used to work nights and used to need quiet, you'd think she would have a bit of understanding. But no. We mention anything about the noise and suddenly she plays the "oh i can't do nothing in my house" card. We do pay rent here just so ya know, she won't rent to anyone who isn't family. I am to the point where I can't be nice anymore. Don't want to give us any respect, don't expect any in return regardless of who you are. I have no fucks to give anymore.

comments

This morning I got to wake up to the news that Chris Cornell passed away. I realize that I am the age where a lot of my idols are going to pass away but it doesn't make it any easier. The last year and a half has been brutal for musical idols. Artists I had grown up listening to, artists that are attached to special memories and very special times in my life. I am more sad at Chris's passing than I think I should be. Maybe it's the possibility that he took his own life. Maybe it's the loss of my youth in his lyrics. Maybe it is the culmination of so much loss over the last 18 months. I hope he is at peace. Whatever plagued him has eased and his soul breathes easier. I think it's time for Death to take a vacation.

comments

Finally made the leap over here to dreamwidth. Sad that LJ had to go but their terms of service changes are stupid and I don't want to be a part of that. So here I am to write once in awhile. Less than once a month but more than once a year at least. =P

comments
